During
December I continued to film my production and began to edit using Adobe
Premier Pro. I also created a variety of print artefacts and digipaks and
selected one of each to be my final design. I used a variety of platforms to
create my designs but eventually decided to use Canva to create all of my
prototypes and my final design.

Print Artefacts : Initial Ideas (Poster)
My initial idea for my poster design was to create a text message effect, although this was a unique approach it came to my attention when carrying out a questionnaire that the design took away to attention of what it was actually marketing. Due to the aim of the poster being to inform the target audience of the album I did not use this design as I didn't want it to be confusing.
I then created a more basic conventional poster allowing me to clearly establish the details of the album, allowing me to include the available platform's logo, the record labels logo, ratings and the album cover itself is more visible.
The final design I created was a large version of the album cover creating continuity and synergy, this is the poster I decided to use as my final print artefact due to getting the majority of votes within my questionnaire. I created all of my designs on the free graphic design tool website Canva.
Print Artefacts : Initital Ideas (Digipak)
My initial print artefact was a basic design witha cassette tape positioned in the centre. The original design was extremely basic and convention in regards to digipaks. Due to the album being a debut I believed it was important to have an image of the artist on the front of the album cover to introduce the artist to many that may not know who ‘Ratboy’ is, therefore I did not continue with with this design.
I then designed more of a DIY approached album cover using lined paper and a school book effect with handwriting and doodles, to represent the youth and to give a better reflection of what the album is going to based about. I didn't continue with this design due to the front presenting a variety of songs included on the album, this did not fit with the conventions of albums due to the track-list being at the back of the album case. This design did not include an image of the artist similar to the first design.
I continued with the lined paper, handwriting and doodle effect, however this time i included an image of the artist positioned in the centre of the design with a taping effect. Located at the bottom is a parental advisory warning due to explicit content within the album. This warning also has a scribble effect to keep continuity within the approach taken when creating my print artefacts.
The final design was inspired by Bart Simpson during the title sequence where he repeatedly wrote the same sentence on the chalkboard in front of him. I created all of my designs on Canva, I then created a questionnaire where the final design (shown below) was chosen.
