Creative Journey - Progress Report (November)

After researching into existing products I decided begin my ideas process by mind mapping all the potential ideas deciding what ideas were realistic in regards to locations, casting etc. Following the mind mapping ideas I selected the song ‘Sign On’ by Rat Boy. I then analyzed the codes and conventions of this song and video enabling me to develop my ideas for my own production.

Before continuing with my ideas I had to consider the regulation and copyright issues that could potentially restrict my production. I then attempted to get into contact with the record label to request permission to use the song. Whilst awaiting a reply I continued to plan my production including audience research, storyboarding, casting and more. I also carried out a risk assessment to highlight any risked that may occur whilst filming and a production plan to ensure the filming process is organised and effective.

I then performed a final proposal making everyone aware of my plans regarding locations, the theme and more, for the production including audience feedback to gain my peers opinions on how to better my production. After pitching my final proposal I began filming with my cast in a variety of locations. I am yet to begin editing my production but have planned to include that into the production schedule.
